Quick answer

Under the Unified Pension Scheme, a central employee with 25+ years of service gets 50% of the average basic pay of the last 12 months as assured pension (proportionate from 10 years, minimum ₹10,000), plus a lump sum of 1/10 of monthly pay + DA for every six months of service. Under NPS, the pension depends on the corpus built from 10% + 14% contributions. Central government gratuity is ¼ of pay + DA for each six months of service, up to ₹25 lakh.
