Image Compressor — Reduce Photo Size in KB

Got a “file size too large” error? Pick the KB limit your form allows, add one or many photos and download JPGs that fit — compressed on your phone or computer, never uploaded.

Quick answer

To reduce a photo to 20 KB or 50 KB, choose the maximum size, add the photo and click “Compress”. The tool lowers JPEG quality step by step and, only if needed, the pixel size, until the file is under the limit. You can also set a minimum KB for forms that reject files that are too small. Everything runs in your browser.

How to compress without losing clarity

  • Start from the original camera photo, not a WhatsApp-forwarded copy — it has more detail to keep.
  • If the form also fixes pixel size (for example 200 × 230), use the Photo Resizer first, then compress.
  • For documents and signatures, turn on Black & white — files become far smaller and text stays sharp.
  • PNG screenshots convert to JPG automatically, which is what almost every government form wants.
