Training tips

  • Train to finish about 10% faster than the cut-off — test-day ground, weather and nerves slow you down.
  • Mix one long slow run, one interval session (400 m repeats at target pace) and one tempo run each week.
  • Practise on a track or measured road so you learn the pace per lap.
  • Rest well before the PET and wear proper running shoes.
