Quick answer

To resize a photo for a government job form, choose the exam preset (for example SSC: 3.5 × 4.5 cm, 20–50 KB), upload your photo and click “Resize & compress”. The tool crops it to the correct shape, compresses it to the allowed file size and gives you a JPG to download. Your photo never leaves your device.

Your photo is processed on your own phone or computer — it is never uploaded. Always check the size given in the notification.

Tips for a photo that is accepted the first time

  • Use a recent colour photo (taken in the last 3 months) with a plain white or light background.
  • Face the camera directly; the face should cover about 70–80% of the photo. No cap, dark glasses or filters.
  • Sign on white paper with a black or blue pen, then photograph or scan it in good light. Do not sign in capital letters if the form forbids it.
  • If the file comes out below the minimum KB, start from a larger, sharper photo instead of upscaling a small one.
  • Keep the downloaded JPG — you will need the same photo again at the exam centre for verification.

Is it safe?

Yes. Resizing and compression run inside your web browser using your device’s own processor. The image is not uploaded to NaukriZila or any server, so it works even without an internet connection after the page has loaded.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my photo uploaded to a server?+

No. Resizing happens inside your browser; the photo never leaves your device.

What if my photo comes out below 20 KB?+

Use a larger, clearer photo, or increase the dimensions under Custom size. Very small source images cannot be enlarged without losing quality.

What is the photo size for SSC forms?+

SSC commonly asks for a 3.5 × 4.5 cm JPG between 20 KB and 50 KB. Check the current notification, as some SSC exams capture a live photo during registration.

What is the signature size for IBPS and SBI?+

Bank exams usually ask for 140 × 60 pixels, JPG, between 10 KB and 20 KB.

Can I resize a signature with this tool?+

Yes. Choose a signature preset (SSC or IBPS signature) or Custom size, upload a clear photo of your signature, and download the result.

Which file format does the tool produce?+

It produces a JPG (JPEG) file, the format accepted by almost every government application form.

Does it work on mobile?+

Yes. It works in Chrome, Safari and other modern mobile browsers. You can take a photo with your phone camera and resize it immediately.

Can I add my name and date below the photo?+

Yes. Turn on “Print name and date below the photo”, type your name and the date, and they are added in a white strip at the bottom — as some exams require.

My face is cut off after cropping. What should I do?+

Use the Zoom and Move sliders to position your face, or choose “Fit (white border)” so nothing is cropped.

Requirements differ between recruitments. Always follow the official notification of the exam you are applying for.
