Quick answer

Your raw score = (right answers × marks per question) − (wrong answers × negative marks). For example, in SSC CGL Tier-1 each question carries 2 marks and 0.5 is deducted for a wrong answer, so 70 right and 12 wrong gives 140 − 6 = 134 out of 200. Unattempted questions carry no penalty. This calculator applies the correct scheme for each exam and section automatically.

How to check the answer key correctly

  • Download your response sheet from the official link — it shows the option you chose and the provisional correct answer for each question.
  • Count only questions you actually answered as right or wrong; skipped questions have no penalty.
  • If you find a wrong key answer, file an objection within the window and pay the fee per question if required.
  • In multi-shift exams, the final score is normalized, so it can differ from this raw score.
