About the scheme
The Ministry of Law and Justice, through its Department of Justice, runs the LLB Internship Programme to familiarize young law students with the functioning of the department. Interns gain practical exposure in areas such as access to justice, e‑Courts, fast track special courts, justice delivery reforms and infrastructure development. The programme lasts four weeks, requires 90% attendance and provides an honorarium and a certificate on completion.

Who can apply (eligibility)
- Indian students who have completed the 2nd year of study and have written the examination to enter the 3rd year
- Students studying in the 3rd year of a three‑year degree course
- Students studying in the 4th year who have written the examination to enter the 5th year
- Students studying in the 5th year of a five‑year degree course
Who cannot apply
- The internship is neither employment nor an assurance of employment with the Department
- No TA/DA or remuneration other than the honorarium will be paid to the interns
- Candidates who have completed their internship with the Department of Justice in earlier years or earlier batches are not considered for the current financial year

Each selected intern shall be posted with an officer of the level of Deputy Secretary/Director/Joint Secretary or the O/o Secretary, Department of Justice, O/o the Minister of State, Law & Justice (Independent Charge) with the approval of the Competent Authority.
