The scheme aims to honour meritorious tribal students of Meghalaya who achieve high marks in the HSSLC Science exam. It encourages excellence in education among tribal communities and promotes interest in Science and Mathematics. The award is given once to each selected student after verification of documents.

Who can apply (eligibility)

• The applicant should be a tribal student belonging to Khasi, Jaintia, Garo, Koch, or Hajong tribes of Meghalaya.
• The applicant should be a permanent resident of Meghalaya.
• The applicant should have passed the current HSSLC Examination from the Science stream.
• The applicant should have secured 60% or above aggregate marks in the examination.

• Front page of Student Bank Account

How to apply

1. 1Open the National Scholarship Portal at https://scholarships.gov.in/.
2. 2Go to Applicant Corner and click on New Registration.
3. 3Click on “Click here for other Scholarship Schemes hosted”.
4. 4Read the guidelines, select the undertaking, and click Continue.
5. 5Select the State of Domicile, Scholarship Category (Pre-Matric), Scheme Type (Scholarship Scheme), and Gender.
6. 6Enter the applicant’s Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, and Email ID.
7. 7Provide Bank Details including Bank Name, IFSC Code, and Account Number.
8. 8Select Aadhaar Number or Bank Account Number as ID and click Register.
9. 9Verify mobile number using OTP.
10. 10Log in with OTP and fill out the application form.
11. 11Submit the form to complete the application.
