- Holders of UGC-recognised degrees where over 60% of course content is in agriculture and allied subjects.
- Post-B.Sc. Biological Science candidates with diploma/PG diploma courses containing more than 60% agriculture-allied content.
- Candidates passing intermediate (10+2) level courses in agriculture-related streams with at least 55% marks.
Who cannot apply
- Retired employees drawing pensionary benefits are ineligible for the subsidy (they can only participate in training and start self-financed projects).
