Who can apply (eligibility)

  • Applicant must be an Indian citizen permanently settled in the awarding State or Union Territory.
  • Candidate must belong to notified Other Backward Classes (OBC), Economically Backward Classes (EBC), or Denotified Nomadic Tribes (DNT).
  • Candidate must have passed Class 10 (matriculation) or higher secondary examinations from a recognised board or university.
  • Candidate must be enrolled in a recognised post-matriculation or post-secondary course in an approved educational institution.
  • Total annual family income from all sources must not exceed ₹2.50 lakh.
  • Scholarship is restricted to a maximum of two male children of the same parents, while this limit does not apply to female children.
  • Candidate must maintain at least 75% attendance in every academic year, verified through an Aadhaar-based system.
  • Candidate must not be drawing any other scholarship or stipend during the same academic period.
  • Students pursuing postgraduate medical degrees are eligible only if they are not allowed to practice privately during the course.

  • Students studying in the same educational stage in a different stream or subject after completing that stage (such as B.Sc. after B.A. or second M.A.).
  • Students pursuing another professional degree after completing one professional line (such as LL.B. after B.Ed.).
  • Students pursuing continuous school education in Class 11 of Higher Secondary School or Class 12 of Multipurpose High School.
  • Students receiving practical training or medical internship allowances/stipends during that specific period.
  • Students pursuing courses through correspondence or online modes are ineligible for the academic allowance component.
