About the scheme

The Young Achievers Awards is an initiative of the Tiatr Academy under the Art, Culture and Museums Department, Government of Goa. The award recognises talented young artistes who have dedicated at least a decade to promoting tiatr, its music, and Konkani culture across stages, All India Radio, Doordarshan, and international platforms. Every year, one male and one female contributor receive official honours on 16th November, marking the birth anniversary of Regina Fernandes, the first woman of the tiatr stage.

Benefits

Who can apply (eligibility)

• Applicant must be not more than 35 years of age (age relaxation may be considered if health condition is not well).
• Must have actively contributed to the field of tiatr for at least 10 years.
• Must have performed in a minimum of 15 tiatrs.
• Contribution must be in acting, singing, script writing, direction, lyric composition, live music, background score, set design, lighting, or makeup.
• Writers or directors must have written or directed at least 7 tiatrs.
• Selected artistes must be compulsorily present in person to receive the award.

Who cannot apply

• Artistes who are unable to attend the award function in person.
• Applicants over 35 years of age who do not qualify for health-related age relaxation.
• Performers with fewer than 10 years of involvement or fewer than 15 tiatr performances.

Documents required

• Aadhaar card of the applicant
• Proof of age (attested copy of Birth Certificate, School Leaving Certificate, Passport, or Driving Licence)
• Photo identity proof of the applicant
• Proof of contribution to the field of tiatr for the last five years
• Copy of Aadhaar card of the recommender

How to apply

1. 1Visit the Tiatr Academy of Goa office to obtain the official Young Achievers Award application form.
2. 2Fill in all mandatory personal, nominee, and recommender sections accurately.
3. 3Attach self-attested copies of identity, age, and five-year contribution documents.
4. 4Ensure both the applicant and the recommender sign the completed application form.
5. 5Submit the physical form and attached documents to the Tiatr Academy of Goa.
