About the scheme
The Indian Agricultural Research Institute Scholarship (IARIS) is awarded by the Dean and Joint Director (Education) under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare to students pursuing M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees. Who can apply (eligibility)

- For M.Sc. and M.Tech. (Agricultural Engineering), candidates must have completed a bachelor's degree under 10+2+4, 10+2+3, or 10+1+4 systems (or 10+2+2 prior to 1985).
- For Ph.D. courses, candidates must have at least 60% marks or an OGPA of 7.50 out of 10.00 (7.00 OGPA or 55% for SC/ST/PC) in their M.Sc. or M.Tech. degree.
- The minimum age for admission to Ph.D. programmes is 21 years as of 31st July of the admission year.
- Recipients must reside in the Post Graduate Hostel and mark regular attendance in their respective divisions.
- Students must maintain an OGPA of at least 6.50 out of 10.00 at the end of the 3rd trimester to continue receiving the scholarship.
Who cannot apply
- Scholars cannot accept or hold any other paid or unpaid appointment during the fellowship tenure.
- Students who fail to maintain an OGPA of 6.50 out of 10.00 at the end of the 3rd trimester are not permitted to continue receiving the scholarship.
- Students who do not reside in the Post Graduate Hostel are not eligible to receive the stipend.
