Who can apply (eligibility)

  • Applicant must be a female student.
  • Must be admitted to the first year of a technical diploma or the second year via lateral entry in an AICTE-approved institution.
  • Total annual family income from all sources must not exceed ₹8,00,000 in the current financial year.
  • Benefits are limited to a maximum of two girl children per family.
  • All eligible girl applicants who apply online from 13 specified Union Territories and North Eastern States (Andaman & Nicobar Islands, J&K, Ladakh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, Lakshadweep, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura) are assured scholarships.

Who cannot apply

  • Students who fail or drop out in any subsequent academic year lose eligibility for renewal.
  • Students receiving any other financial aid, salary, scholarship, or stipend from any other source during the course are disqualified.
  • More than two girl children from the same family cannot avail of the scholarship.
  • Candidates with a gap of more than two years between the qualifying exam and course admission are not eligible.

How to apply

  1. 1Visit the official National Scholarships Portal (scholarships.gov.in) and click on New Registration.
  2. 2Read the guidelines, accept the terms, fill in the registration form, and receive your Application ID and password via SMS.
  3. 3Log in to the portal using your Application ID, password, and the OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
  4. 4Reset your password and proceed to the Applicant Dashboard.
  5. 5Select the Application Form, fill in academic, contact, and personal details, and upload the necessary documents in PDF or JPEG format under 200 KB.
  6. 6Verify details through the DigiLocker facility where applicable, review all information, and click Final Submit.
  7. 7Track your application status on the dashboard or check payment disbursement using the PFMS portal.
